Children's Museum

One of our fun winter finds this year was the Children's Museum in St. Paul. What a perfect place for 2 year olds! The boys talked about it for days afterwards.

The boys, Noi, and I went over on a Saturday while Dad was at work. (Have I mentioned recently how thankful I am to no longer have a "busy season!?") It's been 3 years and I'm still just as thankful. YUK! We had so much fun we had to go back a few weeks later with Dad.

We met up with our friend Roman, too! The area of the museum that had a lot of water was a big hit.
Buttons and lights - how cool!?

The bus was the boys' all-time favorite attraction at the museum. Lots of fighting of who was "dwibing".

Mason riding on the bus - waiting for the driver seat to open up

Monkeys climing!

Prior is a tattle-tale (already) so this picture cracks me up. He was probably pointing to Mason getting into trouble.

Personally, I thought the tot-sized grocery store was the coolest part!

Thank Goodness for indoor activities in MN!

My Donkey and Monkey

The boys have a few several nicknames. One combo is "monkey" and "donkey". Prior has always been the Donkey and Mason has always been the Monkey.

I couldn't believe it when Kristi found these adorable hats! How cute!?

Morning Story

On Saturday morning I went upstairs to P&M's room to find this:

P/M

My sweet little angels had woken up, turned on the light, and were sharing a book, "The Little Engine That Could", together in the big comfy chair. (Emphasis on the word "sharing").

As you can see, the hair fairy paid a visit the night before.

Prior is yawning - Mason probably woke him up!

As soon as I entered the room I said "don't move!" and sprinted downstairs to get my camera.

How sweet are these boys!? They must have heard about my recent post about the fighting...

Fakin...

(note: I wrote this in January and forgot to post it - so here it is!)

I thought I had until at least kindergarten before I had to worry about the boys trying to trick us. You know, about the time they would be wanting to get out of something - like school or church.

We didn't quite make it that long.

They got us.

At just about a week shy of their 2nd birthday.

I told you all that the boys had pneumonia. Well, the truth is that Mason definitely had pneumonia and an ear infection, but Prior wasn't quite as sick. He acted as sick, but his ears looked fine and his lungs didn't sound nearly as bad as Masons. But the doctors gave him medicine anyway and he's fine now.

I'll admit - I was a little suspicious at this point. I thought maybe it was sympathy pains - since they do share the same DNA and all.

Mason's medicine cleared up the pneumonia but didn't quite get the ear infection. I took him in on Friday (by himself) to the doctor. He had a double ear infection. Poor kid. I guess the pneumonia medicine only works quote "sometimes" for ear infections. (That would have been nice to know.)

Anyway, Mason and I came home with medicine to clear up his ear infection. I was worried about taking Mason by myself and leaving Prior with Noi because these two have literally only been apart from each other once or twice in their two years of life. But they survived and it was about 5,000 times easier with only one boy.

When we got home the boys went down for their nap. When the boys woke up, Prior was acting sick. Pulling on his ears, complaining that they hurt, etc. The whole dramatic nine yards. Great timing, I thought, since I was JUST at the doctor. We let this go on for a day or so and each time Prior watched Mason have medicine, he wanted some.

"Medicine too!" said P!

So Sunday morning Ben bundled him up, drove him to the clinic, waited in a waiting room of about 25 kids, only to find out his ears are crystal clear.

So we had a severe case of FAKE-SICK in our house.

Later that afternoon, Prior pushed a chair over to the kitchen counter, got up on the chair, grabbed Mason's medicine, and said "Medicine too" and let out an extremely over-the-top VERY FAKE "cough-cough".

Seriously!?

I'm definitely in for it!

Offseason Support

Go Hawks!

Prior acting tough!
(he is actually wayyyy more sensitive than his brother)

I bribed them with a little De-De-De-De-De Dora so I could try and take a few pictures sitting still. Too bad I ended up with the "zoned-out watching TV" look. I still love the backward-hat look. Too cute!

Mason was shooting hoops in his Hawks gear and it was time for a water break.

Uncle Jake got the boys an indoor basketball hoop and Mason is obsessed. Prior likes it but Mason loves it. When it's time for his nightly bath he usually insists on bringing the basketball in the bathtub with him. He can even consistently make underhand two-handed shots (from the ottoman). He's already ahead of me!

He's drinking "lemon water". I started adding lemon juice to their water - and they think it is the coolest thing ever. They run to the fridge and yell "LEMON WATER, MOM!" (and don't forget the ice!)

Brotherly Love

The first question I get from people is:

"are they twins?"

The second question is:

"do they play well together?"

The answer

(in general)

is YES.

But there are also plenty of situations that end like this:

And more times than not, Prior is the one in tears (as shown here)!

I was trying to get a good picture of them - but they started fighting over something...

Dump It!

(mason)

If the boys had a mission statement, I think it would go something like this:

"Dump it!"

If it can be dumped out - it is.

Their brains are wired that way.

Purses, games, make-up bags, cups filled with liquid, pencil holders, cereal bowls filled with milk, cereal boxes, laundry baskets of already-folded clothes, computer bags, garbage cans....the list goes on and on!

Vitamin D Please!

I'm completely over this winter thing. It feels like it's been going on for six months (oh wait - it has). And could we possibly get any more snow? Apparently, yes. Tuesday and Wednesday to be exact.

We're all ready for spring, sun, and everything that goes along with it.

And by "we" - I also meant P&M's trucks. Apparently the boys thought their trucks needed some sun this morning.

Happy Saturday!
